World Tai Chi Day Briefing – Important Change of Venue.

Each year we celebrate World Tai Chi Day.  This year it will be held on Saturday 27^th April 2024, and we intend to meet at Promenade Park, Park Drive, Maldon 
Postcode: CM9 5JQ. (Not Hyland’s House)

For those of you who are new to the Academy what is World Tai Chi Day? It is a global celebration of Tai Chi involving hundreds of towns and cities in over 80 nations who at 10.00 their local time perform a Tai Chi set. As the world turns a ‘band of tai chi’ is performed around the world.

To learn more about the day see here.  Even if you are very new to the Academy please come along and be a part of something very special.

Our plan for 2024 is to perform the set in Promenade Park Maldon next to the tennis courts then generally socialise and perhaps bring a picnic.  It is important to be here by 9.45am as we have to start the set at precisely 10.00am. There are carparks nearby.

At 10.00 on Saturday 25th April, we were due to meet at Great Totham to celebrate with a Tai Chi set, along with Tai Chi’ers around the world.  However as this year, we are subject to social distancing, plans had to be altered and members marked the occasion in their own homes and gardens.

We’ll make up for it next year!!
